Leeds United are battling ferociously at the top of the Championship, looking for a return to the Premier League after a 15-year absence.

The Whites lead the table by a point, but in a topsy-turvy season where a number of teams have led, nothing is currently assured. Norwich and Sheffield United are pushing hard whilst in the chasing pack West Brom, Middlesbrough and Bristol City will all hope to reel the top two in.

For a neutral it means a thrilling climax to the season in which no one side has dominated the division. Each team has had a good run, each has stumbled at some point and even now, with less than three months to play, it is anyone's guess who might go up.

Leeds have been boosted by the form of striker Kemar Roofe, although he is in a barren spell at the moment having scored once in eight matches. His season total is impressive, 14 in 27 outings across all competitions.

If the unthinkable happens and the Whites are not promoted, there's every chance their striker could leave for a big fee. If that happens, we've got three players we think would be just right to replace him at Leeds in the second-tier next season.

John Marquis

Marquis has been in sensational form for Doncaster this season, scoring 18 goals in League One. He's been their shining light and has helped turn a season of mediocrity into a push for a play-off place.

He's sure to be hot property in the summer and any Championship club with a few quid to spend would be wise to throw it Doncaster's way.

Joel Asoro

This might not be a 'pulses racing' signing, but Asoro is a quality footballer and he'd surely benefit from working under Bielsa. Besides, Leeds have history with Swansea and could make a double swoop!

Asoro needs regular matches, he's started just four times for the Swans this season. He's quick, agile and has great movement, all features of Roofe's game too.

Sometimes it isn't the goals on your past record that count, but what attributes you have that might bring the best out of those around you.

James Collins

If they want an out and out scorer, a bustling striker with 60+ goals to his name over a three season period, then Collins is the man.

He's made the transition from League Two to League One with ease this season, banging in 19 at last count for Luton Town.
