Brighton & Hove Albion were unable to capitalise on the opportunity to top the Championship as they fell victim to a late Nottingham Forest display by losing 3-0 to the relegation-threatened team.

The Seagulls had very little to offer throughout the afternoon until they went a goal behind on the hour mark, Forest's goal courtesy of Zach Clough, and would finally raise their game but be unable to hit the net.

Chris Hughton's men continued to dominate play until the latter stages of the match until goalkeeper David Stockdale's sloppy mistake allowed Ben Osborn to double the hosts' advantage on the 89th minute.

Then deep into injury time, all three points were confirmed to stay at the City Ground when Lewis Dunk's foul gave Nottingham Forest a penalty, and Clough stood up and added a third - much to Brighton's disarray.

That result means the promotion chasers stay second, three points behind leaders Newcastle as of writing this, who play Huddersfield Town in the late kick-off on Saturday.

Here is how Brighton & Hove Albion fans reacted to the unsatisfactory result.....
