Charlton have rounded off a busy week by confirming the signing of Luton Town midfielder Alan Shinnie.

Lee Bowyer has been a busy man in recent days, adding the loan signing of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea and the permanent transfers of Omar Bogle from Cardiff City and Ryan Inniss from South London rivals Crystal Palace.

Shinnie has joined on a season-long loan deal after a difficult start to the campaign with the Hatters, in which he hasn't been involved in any of Luton's opening five Championship matches.

His only appearances this term both came in the EFL Cup - against Reading and then Manchester United.

Shinnie has been capped once by Scotland having made of 300 appearances for played for Rangers, Dundee, Inverness, Birmingham, Rotherham and Hibernian before returning to England in 2017.

Charlton fans are still waiting for further deadline-day signings and weren't overly impressed with the arrival of Shinnie, who played a key part in Luton winning promotion back to the second-tier back in 2018-2019.
