Aston Villa are the big news of the Championship today with news emerging that the club are set to appoint John Terry and Thierry Henry into managerial roles with the club.

Villa look set to offer Belgium coach Henry his first job in management, with former Chelsea defender Terry acting as his number two, in what would be a stunning yet risky move by the club's new owners.

The Midlanders are looking for a new manager after parting ways with Steve Bruce last week, and will see the big name of Henry as someone who can come into the club and bring a lift to the entire club from top to bottom.

The Villans lost out once more this weekend as lowly Milllwall saw them off at the Den, and a manager is needed now more than ever to steady the ship.

That's why the appointment of the inexperienced Henry could be a strange one, and our writers here at FLW seem to agree with that consensus.

Here's what our writers had to say about the potential appointment of Henry and Terry...

Henry and Terry as a double act? Really? I'm a bit shell-shocked. I really thought they'd go for some experience.

This is a huge risk, make no mistake about it.
They've rolled the dice. Let's see what comes up.

This is utterly baffling to me.
It is a huge risk from the new owners, bringing in two former players with no experience of first team management.
I can only assume Terry will have a playing role as his presence makes no sense to me.
Lee Connor
It's certainly an interesting one if it goes through.
For what Villa need at the moment, I question whether it's the right appointment. Yes Henry is a name, and yes Terry knows the club, but do they know management?
I'm not so sure, and I think someone like Mick McCarthy would have been a sounder option, with maybe Terry as a number two to learn his trade alongside the Yorkshireman.
