Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has started his planning for life in the Premier League in earnest, after their Championship campaign drew to a close with a 2-2 draw against Stoke City at the weekend.

One player on Wilder's radar is Blackburn Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan, who has enjoyed a solid season for Rovers with two goals in 36 appearances in all competitions, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.

So, would Lenihan be a good signing for the Blades?

We discuss........

Ben Lang

"Definitely. Blackburn will have done very well to keep him this summer.

"He's a top defender, a future leader and the kind of figure Blades could really rely on in the Premier League.

"His goal on Sunday also proved his attacking abilities at the other end of the pitch."

Gary Hutchinson

“I like Lenihan, in fact I like Blackburn.

“I think they’re on the way back. They established themselves this season and I can see the top six coming closer next season.

“For that reason, they’ve got to keep their top players.

“As for the Blades, they’ll need better to survive in the top flight.”

Toby Wilding

"This feels like a risky signing to me.

"It is no coincidence that Blackburn's results and performances have improved since Lenihan's return from injury, but he has never been tested in the Premier League, and he has never been the most attacking of centre backs, so he may struggle to fit into Wilder's system.

"The Premier League is not the place to be taking chances like that on people."

George Brooks

"Lenihan has been an important player for Blackburn over the past few seasons and would be an ideal signing for Sheffield United.

"He is a no-nonsense defender and could slot into the back three that Wilder uses.

"I’m sure Tony Mowbray will be determined to keep hold of one of his more influential players though, so signing him could prove tricky for the Blades."
