Rangers are preparing to make another offer to Oldham Athletic for defender George Edmundson after he handed in a transfer request, having been knocked back following an initial bid worth £400,000, with Oldham valuing the defender in the region of £1m, as reported in the Scottish Sun.

Edmundson, 21, has made 50 appearances for the Latics this season, in all competitions scoring two goals and making two assists for Pete Wild's side and this form has also raised interest from Wigan, Stoke City and Derby County.

So, do you think Oldham will sell Edmundson this summer?

We discuss.........

George Dagless

"Yes, eventually.

"They obviously want to get a decent price for him this summer and that is fair enough.

"He wants to go, though, and Rangers are clearly keen so it's a matter of when and not if for me."

George Brooks

"Edmundson is a player with a lot of potential and he would be a good signing for Rangers.

"I’m sure Oldham will be desperate to for him to remain at the club, but it could be very difficult for them keep hold of him.

"The defender has handed in a transfer request and seems to want to leave the club.

"This deal seems almost inevitable now, although Oldham will probably try to get as much money for the player as possible."

Jacob Potter

"They’ll have their hands forced sooner or later.

"Edmondson evidently has something about him as you don’t attract interest from the clubs after him just by chance.

"He’s destined for a move to a bigger club, and Rangers will certainly feel as though they’ll be in pole position to land his signature in the near future ahead of a potential summer move."
