Leeds United are weighing up a shock £7 million double swoop for Aston Villa duo Ross McCormack and Tommy Elphick,  according to the Sun's printed edition on Tuesday [page 55].

Would this be a good move by Thomas Christiansen? Are these players that Leeds need?

We discuss....

Chris Gallagher

They would both be great signings.

Leeds fans might not want McCormack back but he brings experience and importantly goals to the team, which is what they're crying out for.

Is he an upgrade on the current options Thomas Christiansen has? Without a doubt.

Similarly, so is Elphick. Sign them up!

George Dagless

It'd be some deal.

Are Villa going to let players - though fringe ones - go to play-off rivals?

If they do, Leeds are going to be stronger for sure with Elphick a promotion winning player and good defence and McCormack possessing a bundle of talent.

I'd be surprised if it happened but certainly impressed if the Whites did it.

Sam Preston

I don’t think it’s worth the money.

Leeds could do with reinforcements in those areas but neither player strikes me as someone who will make a massive impact on the promotion push.

McCormack seems happier away from the glare of english football, banging in goals in the slower paced A League for Melbourne.

Elphick is a very standard Championship defender and would add cover but little more.

Alfie Burns

As a Leeds fan, I loved McCormack at Elland Road during his previous spell – he was phenomenal.

However, right now, I’d leave a move for both him and Elphick alone, as it could prove to be an expensive and costly deal for Leeds, just as it has proved to be for Villa.

Both are the wrong side of 30 and Leeds shouldn’t be breaking the bank to bring either in.

Adam Simeoni

What a double deal this would be. A famous return to Elland Road for McCormack, and a quality addition at the back in the experienced Tommy Elphick, and all for a bargain fee of £7 million!

Pull this one off, and Leeds' squad will certainly experience a massive boost in improvement.
