Leeds United’s season crashed to a gut wrenching close on Wednesday night with a 4-2 loss to Derby County at Elland Road.
It was a result that saw the Whites knocked out of the Championship play-offs and the end of their promotion ambitions that once seemed so realistic.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were challenging for an automatic promotion spot right up until the penultimate weekend of the season but it was not to be.
But it is a campaign that marked an enormous improvement on their previous mid table finish, so, once the dust settles on this defeat, how should their fans be feeling ahead of next season?
“However, the competition isn’t as fierce next year in my opinion.
“The sides coming down are not huge, not like Derby and Villa.
“Too many teams are rebuilding, Leeds only need to add and tinker.
“If Bielsa stays, they’ll be up there again.”
“I think they should be worried.
“Given where they were at around December time, I don’t think that they’ll have a greater chance of winning promotion to the Premier League than this season.
“If Bielsa goes, then it could be a very underwhelming season for the Whites next year.”
“I think they will be confident, if the summer goes well for them.
“If they are able to keep Bielsa at the club and allow him to spend in the transfer then they will feel there is every chance they can go one better next season.
“If they don’t back Bielsa and the Argentine walks away from Elland Road, things could turn very sour indeed.”
