Patience is starting to run thin amongst West Bromwich Albion fans as they wait to see who will be hired as their next permanent manager.
Last week, Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports News reported that former West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has raced into the lead for the job, but since then no progress has been reported.
However, another little bit of news broke on Monday with the Express and Star reporting that whoever takes the job will be tasked with significantly trimming the club’s wage bill.
According to the report, last season it came to a massive £38million with plenty of big earners throughout the Baggies squad.
But who should they look to ship out first?
“Kieran Gibbs would be one of the first I’d get rid of.
“That’s not a criticism on Gibbs either, it’s just that he is likely to be one of the highest earners at West Brom, and they need to trim the wage bill so it makes sense.
“It’ll be a season of rebuilding and supporters need to be patient and not expect instant success.”
“I think getting rid of Rondon will be a big piece of business.
“Plenty of clubs are believed to be queuing up for his signature, therefore it’s all about getting the right fee for him.
“His sale could be beneficial for the Baggies in terms of financially next season.
“I’d also look to get rid of Allan Nyom and Hal Robson-Kanu too.”
“They simply have to sell, surely.
“Salomon Rondon will be comfortably one of the biggest earners at the club if not the biggest and so cashing in now and freeing up that space is essential.
“If they do then it will surely increase their chances of keeping Jay Rodriguez too.”
