‘They simply don’t need him’ – Spurs linked with big-money move for exciting playmaker: Opinion

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to sign Brentford talisman Said Benrahma.

The 23-year-old has been in exceptional form for the Bees since his summer arrival from French outfit Nice, scoring 10 goals and producing 11 assists for Thomas Frank’s men.

His form for the West London side has alerted interest from the likes of Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, but they might have to pay big with the Bees demanding £30million for their star-man.

Here, we discuss whether he’d be a good signing for Spurs…

George Harbey

“It’s an interesting one.

“Benrahma is obviously a very good player who has shown that he is more than capable of making the step-up to the Premier League.

“Would he get in Spurs’ team though? I’m not sure.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Absolutely not.

“He’s not right for them at all.

“Tricky customer, but there’s not the right attitude to apply himself at Spurs, not right now.”

Jacob Potter

“They simply don’t need him.

“Benrahma is an exciting talent, but he isn’t an upgrade on what Spurs already have available to them.

“There are better options out there.”
