Sunderland manager Jack Ross has got his side right in the mix in League One, just three points off leaders Portsmouth with a game in hand, as he plots a route back to the Championship after back to back relegations.

But with his side in-form, it is inevitable that bigger clubs are circling with his best assets firmly in their sights and this is firmly the case, as Chelsea and Manchester City fight to sign teenage midfielder Bali Mumba, according to Alan Nixon in the Sun on Sunday (November 4th, Page 59).

So should Sunderland do all they can to keep Mumba at the club?

We discuss.....

George Harbey

He’s unlikely to be a starter over the next couple of years, but along with the likes of Josh Maja, Mumba could be of much use to Sunderland in the future.

He’s already shown glimpses of what he can be like in the long term, and he could be one of those players who could depart for big bucks in the future regardless of his game time.

Jay Taylor

They should do all they can, but that can only go so far.

Bali Mumba might have his head turned by the riches of the Premier League but his footballing education would be better served staying at Sunderland for the foreseeable future.

I feel going to an academy will end in several loan moves and less competitive U23 football.

Staying at Sunderland will allow Mumba to play competitive men's football on a consistent basis and will help him develop further.

George Dagless

Yes.

He's a good young player and has the ability to make it to the very top.

Sunderland are in a good place and I think they'll be able to keep him.
