Ben Pearson is somebody who burst onto the scene for Preston North End last season and marked his name as one to watch for the future.

The 23-year-old had one of the best seasons of his career as he made the centre-midfield position his own at Deepdale.

But with such performances comes the possibility of big money bids.

Whilst Pearson is yet to be linked with a move away from the Lancashire club, his performances would not have gone unnoticed.

If the Manchester United youth graduate were to leave it would Preston with Daniel Johnson, Paul Gallagher and John Welsh to fill the void.

So with all of this in mind, should North End's fans be worried that Pearson could be sold?

We discuss.

George Dagless

I don't think so.

Preston might not have the apparent budget of Leeds or Forest this summer but they are still a very exciting project.

The players will look at last season and see they're as close as pretty much anyone to promotion this coming campaign - I'm sure none really want to leave at the moment.

Gary Hutchinson

I think fans of any club should worry their top stars are to be sold, after all other than maybe Manchester City and the Spanish giants, who isn't a selling club?

Preston have punched above their weight for a few years now and fans will have survived worse scares.

Alfie Burns

Of course, they should be worried.

However, if he departs, it is going to be for serious money. There’s no chance that Preston will let the midfielder depart on the cheap.

Chris Gallagher

Yes, because he's a top player.

Pearson could really be playing at a higher level and money talks so there will always be a slight worry for fans. However, there's no indication he will go this summer and he will be key to their hopes next season.

Adam Willmott

They should be.

A composed and skilful midfielder, Pearson would be difficult to replace.
