Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal has reportedly declared an interest in the vacant managerial role at West Bromwich Albion.

The West Midlands club parted company with Darren Moore on Saturday evening, and are now reportedly looking at hiring one of either Slavisa Jokanovic, Alex Neil and David Wagner.

But Carvalhal, who has been out of work since the end of last season following his departure from Swansea City, is now an option for the club after declaring an interest in the vacant job at the Hawthorns.

Here, we discuss the potential appointment of Carvalhal at West Brom...

George Harbey

"I'm really not sure about this one.

"Carvalhal did well in his first season as manager of Wednesday, but has been on a downward spiral ever since.

"There are better options out there if the Baggies really want to get promoted."

Jacob Potter

"They should avoid this at all costs.

"Carvalhal was sacked by Swansea and Sheffield Wednesday and he hasn't convinced me that he would be able to take the Baggies into the Premier League.

"There are better options out there."

Gary Hutchinson

"Absolutely not.

"I can’t see how they’d benefit from this appointment.

"He didn’t do anything with Swansea and to be fair, Sheff Weds collapsed too.

"Steer clear."

George Dagless

"It could be worth a look.

"He did a good job at Sheffield Wednesday and could certainly do the same at West Brom.

"He still has a question mark over him when it comes to actually earning promotion in this country though."
