Cardiff City are sat 11th in the table with 16 points, however, their form on the road so far this season has been dismal under Neil Warnock.

The Bluebirds have picked up just the three points on the road this campaign from six games, picking up all those points through draws and yet to win away from home in the league.

Cardiff's draws came against Hull City, Derby County and Blackburn Rovers, all consecutive draws away from home, and Warnock has a challenge on his hands now to improve his side on the road.

Here, we look at why Cardiff have been struggling on the road in this six pointer opinion...

What have you made of Cardiff's start to the season away from home so far?

"Cardiff have been poor away from home in the league so far. They've been struggling to get the points they've needed on the road and teams have set up differently to how they usually would when playing at Cardiff's ground."

How can Cardiff improve that away form?

"For starters, they need to make sure that they keep the ball.

"Cardiff keep giving the ball away too easily, and when they're forced to sit back, they seem too nervous and too rigid to press the men in possession, giving the opposition the advantage."

How can the midfield help Cardiff in and out of possession then?

"The midfield can be the main players pressing while the opposition have the ball mainly inside the Cardiff half, and when in possession instead of trying these long raking passes to get Cardiff in behind they should try keeping the ball and remaining patient".

Are there any players that can help with Cardiff's away form?

"Forward Danny Ward currently has three goals in two substitute appearances away from home in the league this season.

"If Ward was to start for Cardiff in tough games away from home, then his mobility and threat going forward would spring a surprise on the opposition".

Do Cardiff have enough firepower upfront to get the points away from home?

"Considering that Cardiff's top scorer in the league so far this season is Danny Ward, with those three goals away from home, the answer to that would be no.

"Cardiff need to be getting regular shots on target in the away games and need to take more care with the ball no matter the circumstance they're in".

Do you see Cardiff improving?

"I can see Cardiff improving as the season goes on because there is definitely room for improvement there, but they'll need to improve that away form quickly if they're to avoid sliding down the table".
