Nottingham Forest fans will be feeling content at their side's start to the 2019/20 season, after picking up their first win of the season at the weekend.

The Reds put in their best performance of the season so far on Saturday afternoon, brushing aside Birmingham City by three goals to nil thanks to strikes from Joe Lolley, Lewis Grabban and Michael Dawson.

Sabri Lamouchi seems to have won the general consensus of Forest fans over after replacing Martin O'Neill in the summer, with new signings such as Alfa Semedo, Samba Sow and Tiago Silva all impressing following their arrival at the City Ground.

The Frenchman's attacking brand of football and free-flowing philosophy is easy to watch on the eye, but it's results that gets you promoted, and Forest fans will be expecting their side to go one step further than last season's disappointing end to proceedings.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World Chief Editor, Sam Rourke, former Reds midfielder David Prutton offered his thoughts on Lamouchi's tenure thus far, as they prepare to take on Charlton Athletic at The Valley on Wednesday night.

"From a management point of view, apart from Rennes, you're looking at a CV that is new to a lot of people which is understandable.

"That first game against West Brom, they started off really well in the first 15 minutes but fell completely flat. When you were there and looked at the way the game went, you kind of thought that this has got all the hallmarks of a short tenure.

"But, getting off to winning ways against Birmingham at the weekend will do them the world of good in terms of confidence, and it shows how quickly things can turn around. He needed that win.

"They needed to make a change from Martin because the players didn't seem too happy, but on the surface of that, they have got to take responsibility for their own performances and what they put out. But maybe a slightly happier camp will yield better results."
