Derby midfielder, Ikechi Anya is somewhat the forgotten man in Frank Lampard's side this season, and he has recently been linked with a loan move to Birmingham City.

The Derby Telegraph have reported that the Blues are looking to bring Anya in this month to add some much-needed depth to their squad.

Birmingham are challenging for a top six finish this season and Anya could potentially be exactly what they're missing in their play-off bid.

The Blues are currently under a transfer embargo which stops them from making permanent signings, so Anya would be only be arriving on a loan deal until the end of the season.

He offers pace and trickery going forward and would provide the likes of Lucas Jutkiewicz and Che Adams with the service they need to fire Garry Monk's side to promotion.

Anya is yet to feature for Derby this season and is his future at the club seemingly is over under Lampard.

But would Anya be a good signing for Birmingham if he was to join?

We discuss....

Gary Hutchinson:

They do need to inject some fresh blood, even though they're doing well.

There's the famous saying, if you're standing still, you're going backwards.

Monk has forged on despite the pressure this season and Anya would be a good addition to his hard-working squad.

George Harbey:

I think that Birmingham are definitely in need of some new signings to add cover, and Anya would be a good addition.

He hasn't played a lot of football over the last year, but is a very able player on his day who would add some real quality to the left side for the Blues.

They need to get this done.

Jacob Potter:

He has a point to prove this season.

Anya has been unlucky not to have featured for Derby this season under Frank Lampard, and he is surely looking for a move this month.

If he can rediscover the form he had previously shown at Watford, then he could be one of the signings of the season for Garry Monk's side.
