Sunderland head into their play-off semi-final first leg clash with Portsmouth this weekend, with manager Jack Ross hoping his side can shake off the poor form that has seen the Black Cats unable to secure a win in their last four league matches of the regular season.

Despite their lack of form, Ross has received a boost with the news that Aiden McGeady, Lee Cattermole and George Honeyman are set to return, as reported on the club website.

So, how big a boost is it for Ross, that Sunderland are more or less at full strength?

We discuss........

Jacob Potter

"This couldn’t have come at a better time.

"Sunderland have struggled in recent weeks, and many supporters will have been concerned that this could hamper their play-off plans.

"They need a fully-fit squad available for a tricky fixture against Portsmouth and I fancy their chances against Pompey with a full squad available."

Louie Chandler

"They need every boost they can get.

"The Black Cats have been very poor recently but if Ross has a full strength XI then they could seriously trouble Portsmouth.

"Ross needs to get his selection absolutely spot on."

George Harbey

"I think it gives Sunderland every chance of going through to the final to be honest.

"On paper, they have probably the best squad in the division, so to have every player available can only bode well for the upcoming weeks.

"I think they’ll find it very tough against a strong Portsmouth side, and it will be a cracker at the Stadium of Light."
