After a run of four league games without a win, Portsmouth's bid for automatic promotion from League One has somewhat derailed in recent weeks.

Kenny Jackett's men have gone from sitting comfortably at the top of the Sky Bet League One to 3rd position in the league table, seven points off league leaders Luton Town with a game in hand.

Will Pompey climb back up to the top, or will they have to settle for a play-off position come the end of the season? Here, taking on FLW’s six pointer is George Harbey, as we weigh up Pompey's title chances...

Firstly, what have you made from Pompey's season so far?

On the whole, I have been impressed with Pompey this season.

After finding their feet in League One last season, everyone expected Kenny Jackett's to mount a play-off push at the very least, and as we approach the final third of the campaign, they are doing just that.

It's just a shame that they have hit a real slump in recent weeks, however.

What do you think has led to Pompey's recent downfall?

I think every team has a minor blip in their season, and unfortunately for Kenny Jackett's men, it's come at completely the wrong time.

They had only lost three times all season before losing to Blackpool at home, and just like that, after four games without a win, they are now seven points off top spot.

I think it shows just how competitive League One really is, and it also shows just how tight it is at the top of League One.

Do you think they did enough in the January transfer window to get themselves back up there?

There is no doubting that Pompey brought in some fantastic names on paper in January, but it seems to me, from an outsider's perspective, that they have just signed them simply because they can.

The likes of Omar Bogle and James Vaughan will score goals for fun at this level, but what will the likes of Brett Pitman and Oliver Hawkins be thinking after bringing in two new strikers in January?

Will Ronan Curtis and Jamal Lowe be happy after signing Lloyd Isgrove and Viv Solomon-Otabor? Time will only tell whether this will upset the apple cart.

Portsmouth face Barnsley and Charlton Athletic over the course of the next few weeks, will those games make or break their push for promotion?

Absolutely - they are absolutely huge games.

If the Blues are to get back up into the top two then they have got to beat the teams around them - you'd always back them to win at Fratton Park, but Charlton away is always a tough test.

It's also worth mentioning, though, that over the course of the month, they also face Plymouth Argyle and Walsall away from home, as well as Bradford City and Bristol Rovers at Fratton Park.

Those four sides will be fighting for their lives at the bottom of League One, so they will also be massive tests for Pompey.

What do Pompey need to do to get back on track?

I don't think there's any real massive changes that Pompey need to make to get back on track, I just think they need to erase inconsistency from their game, which is easier said than done.

As alluded to before, everybody has a blip in their season, and it's just happened at completely the wrong time for Pompey.

With the likes of Jamal Lowe and Ronan Curtis in their team though, they won't be struggling for too much longer.

The killer question - will Pompey do it? Will they go back to the top of the league, or will they miss out on automatic promotion?

This is so hard - League One is so tight this season and there are so many good teams in the division.

We all know what Pompey are capable of, and when they click, they are a real unit.

What I will say, though, is that I still expect Sunderland and Barnsley to find another gear, and I also can't see anyone stopping Luton with the form that they are in.

I've just got a horrible feeling that they may have left it too late to turn it around now.
