‘They had to take a gamble’ – Reviewing Bradford’s managerial decision: Opinion

Published

on

David Hopkin decided to leave his role as Bradford City manager after a poor run of form, and it could be said the whole appointment was a disaster.

Bradford are now left in a very bad situation, and relegation to League Two seems a possibility.

So, will they be regretting appointing Hopkin?

We debate…

Jacob Potter

“I think they had to take a gamble.

“I wasn’t a fan of this appointment at the time, and he’s never proved to me that he could turn their poor run of form around.

“His appointment has been one of the worst decisions that the club have made in recent seasons.”

Gary Hutchinson

“Possibly.

“He did a decent job before Christmas, but since then it’s all caved in again.

“They didn’t have a great January, but they’ve got decent players.

“I’m shocked they’re struggling.”

Lewis Steele

“It was a terrible appointment and they only have themselves to blame.

“He started well, but it seemed more of a short-term appointment than a long-term solution to the problem.

“Where the club go from here is a worry.”
