Derby County are one of the teams interested in signing Juventus striker, Stephy Mavididi on loan for the season according to a recent report from TEAMtalk.

Mavidid is a player in significant demand though, with Leeds, Everton and Aston Villa being just a small number of the teams interested in striking an agreement with the Italian giants for the youngster.

In our latest FLW Six Pointer, we look into Derby's interest in Mavididi in more detail.

Would he be a good signing for the Rams?

"He'd be an excellent signing.

"He's a raw talent who will feel as though he has unfinished business in English football, having previously played for the Arsenal youth teams.

"Mavididi is highly rated at Juventus, having made his first-team debut last season, and I think a loan move to the Championship would be the best option for him.

"This would be a real coup if they signed him, but I'm not sure they need another striker."

Do they actually need another striker?

"They don't need him.

"Derby already have a proven goalscorer in their squad in Jack Marriott, and they simply don't need more strikers to unbalance the squad ahead of next season.

"Martyn Waghorn and David Nugent are also still there, so it's just an unneeded signing in my opinion.

"There are other positions that need to be strengthened in the Derby team before a striker is signed, that's for sure."

What does this mean for Jack Mariott's future at the club?

"I'd be seriously worried if I was Jack Marriott.

"He didn't get the game time he deserved this season, and another striker could potentially push him further down the pecking order at Derby.

"I have absolutely no idea why Frank Lampard hasn't given him more game time since he's been with the club, and if Mavididi was to arrive, then you have to feel as though Marriott could be tempted by a move elsewhere, even if that is a loan move."

How should Derby fans be feeling about their rumoured interest in him?

"I'd be excited, but not getting ahead of myself.

"There's no doubting that Mavididi is a player with a bright future ahead of him, who could make it to the very top.

"But with Premier League clubs keeping tabs on him, it just seems difficult to see Derby being able to land his signature.

"Derby fans will need to be realistic and acknowledge that they face a real battle to even tempt the striker into signing for them ahead of next season."

What could he bring to the Derby team next season?

"He'd bring pace and an eye for goal.

"Mavididi would also bring serious competition to the other strikers currently at Derby, which could potentially be a bad thing if other members of the squad aren't given game time.

"But he's a player with real talent, and I'm not surprised to see Frank Lampard looking to add depth to his squad as they target promotion next season."

With a number of teams interested, can you see this potential deal happening?

"It seems highly unlikely they'll be able to sign him.

"Mavididi is clearly a player that has something about him if a number of teams are interested in signing him on loan for the season.

"But with the likes of Newcastle, Everton and Aston Villa wanting him, it seems an almost impossible task for Derby to beat those Premier League teams in the race to sign the former Arsenal man.

"They're fighting a losing battle."
