Nigel Quashie believes that the fans deserve more after West Brom were confined to yet another Championship defeat last night, with the former Baggies midfielder taking to Twitter after the final whistle.

The Midlands club have picked up just one point from their last seven games, form that has seen their play-off chances diminish.

Steve Bruce was appointed early last month to stop the rot at The Hawthorns, however, his arrival has not worked out thus far.

Bruce has picked up a draw and four losses in his first five games at the helm and is still in search of that all-important first win.

Taking to Twitter after last night's defeat against the Swans, Quashie said: "I see the supporters frustration at #wba because they deserve more.

"They have the right to question the manager and the board at times to make changes but it’s players who play and need to take it on the chin.

"I hope there’s a few words said in that changing room…"

The verdict

Confidence has been zapped out of West Brom in recent months, and whilst a lot of criticism went towards Valerien Ismael, perhaps their continued slump is an indicator that the problem is much deeper than management.

The players do have to take responsibility in this situation, especially when considering the individual talent the club possesses.

It will be interesting to see what happens in regards to Bruce and the security of his job.

The experienced manager was brought in to prevent a collapse, but that is exactly what has happened under his stewardship.

The play-off positions seem to be too far away now, and with the play-off chasers in excellent form, the Baggies look destined for a mid-table finish.Â
