Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa goes into tonight's match against Reading without first choice centre-back Pontus Jansson, who is still suffering with a foot injury that sidelined him for the weekend win over Bristol City, as reported in the YEP.

Bielsa was forced to turn to youngster Aapo Halme, who was an able deputy for Jansson and with the Swede not guaranteed to return for the coming weekend's match against Sheffield United, Halme could be in line for a run in the side.

So how big a blow is the absence of Jansson to Leeds?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

It is a blow, for sure, but Leeds won last time out and that will give the deputising defenders confidence ahead of the match.

But with the club wishing to banish the memories of the 4-1 defeat to West Brom, Jansson’s absence will be felt less with that win out the way over the weekend.

You always want your best players available, but if they are unable to play, you want the ones who come in to prove their worth.

Gary Hutchinson

It’s always a blow when a player like him is missing.

He’s experienced, both in the Championship and the wider game.

Leeds adapt though, don’t they?

They always find a way around these hiccups. It’s admirable.

George Harbey

They coped well enough without him on Saturday, however it could be detrimental for Leeds in the long run.

Aapo Halme didn’t really put a foot wrong on his debut and deserves to keep his shirt tonight, but Leeds fans would much rather have Jansson back for sure.

They can't afford any more injuries...
