New Huddersfield Town manager Jan Siewert has moved quickly in the transfer market with the signing of striker Karlan Grant from Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee, it has been confirmed on the club website.

The 21-year-old has scored 14 league goals and provided four assists in 28 appearances this season for the Addicks, a statistic that will not be lost on Huddersfield fans whose side are bottom of the Premier League, 11 points from safety and have scored just 13 goals this season.

So ultimately, will Charlton fans be annoyed to see Karlan Grant leave?

We discuss.....

Louie Chandler

"They definitely have a right to.

"The Addicks were in a good position to achieve promotion so to see a key man leave will hurt.

"But then they surely cannot begrudge a young academy graduate a move to a Premier League club."

George Harbey

"They are bound to be frustrated.

"Grant was, arguably, their best player and their most prized asset, and now they will struggle tor replace him with just a day left in the window.

"His departure was always going to happen, it’s just a shame how it’s happened so late in the window."

Gary Hutchinson

“I know football is mercenary and nobody should be surprised, but I think they have every right to be cheesed off.

“He was at Crawley a year ago and in trouble during the summer. Lee Bowyer supported him, stuck by him and gave him the chance to shine.

“This is how he repays them? We don’t know what goes on behind the scenes but if I were an Addicks fan I’d be angry.”
