With Alan Hutton certain to be depart if promotion isn't secured, the right-back berth at the club is up for grabs and with a projected tight budget for Bruce next season in the Championship, promoting from within could be a realistic option.

Bree has impressed during his five first-team appearances this season and has played a key role in Villa's aforementioned success at reserve level.

The 20-year-old has a lot to learn but has improved dramatically working alongside Hutton in training, with the experienced Scotsman a shining example to the young star.

Fans love nothing more than 'one of their own' establishing themselves in the first-team and if Hutton does indeed depart, Bree could become the latest of a long production line of youth players to become Villa Park stars.
