Aston Villa have had a torrid start to the 2018/19 season in the Championship, with Steve Bruce coming under great pressure with each passing game week.

Their 1-1 draw with Bristol City at Ashton Gate would be classed as a good result, but with the club languishing in 15th after some big names arrived at the club, patience is running thin.

Yannick Bolasie, Tammy Abraham and Anwar El Ghazi all arrived at the club, but things have not clicked for any of them yet.

But, one new signing who has impressed more than others is midfielder John McGinn, who arrived from Hibs.

The Scot has impressed with his work in midfield, with a stunning strike against Sheffield Wednesday a standout.

So we asked the Villa Park faithful to grade the 23-year-old's season so far from poor to excellent.

Although good takes the majority of the vote, Aston Villa's supporters do seem surprisingly divided on McGinn's contribution so far this season.

The Verdict

'Good' is correct.

The Scottish midfielder has looked good since arriving, but that is largely down to how poorly his team have performed at times.

He will no doubt get better as the season progresses, and hopefully, the Villa team does as well.
