The January transfer window is approaching fast, with Championship clubs sure to be busy across the month as they strengthen their squads for the second-half of the season.

Leeds United will be amongst those linked with a number of players in the winter window, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side hoping to be in promotion contention heading into the New Year.

With Bielsa’s squad stretched due to injuries, Leeds’ supporters will be hoping that there is a focus on bringing bodies into Elland Road, but there could also be departures.

Bielsa has used a select group of players, with some not featuring nearly as regularly as they might’ve expected ahead of the season.

With that in mind, we take a closer look at Leeds’ squad, identifying TWO players who are fighting for a future at Elland Road between now and the January transfer window…

Baker is on loan at Elland Road and the Chelsea midfielder would have been expecting a lot more action than he has seen.

Bielsa has turned to other options in midfield, with Baker now enduring a second unsuccessful loan in the Championship.

Something needs to change in the New Year for Baker, which could force him out of Elland Road.

He needs to impress in the coming weeks if he is to have a future with Leeds.

Pearce has had injury problems, but Barry Douglas’ injury highlighted just how far down the pecking order the youngster is.

Bielsa turned to Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Gaetano Berardi ahead of him, with Pearce handed just a few cameo appearances.

It remains to be seen where his career goes from here, but the 20-year-old can’t be confident he will be at Elland Road much longer unless something changes.
