The summer transfer window could be a rather extensive one for Peterborough United.

Following their relegation from the Championship during the 2021/22 season after just a single campaign in the second-tier, the Posh will be looking to bounce back in League One next time round.

Of course, in order to do that, the club will have to get things right in the market, in order to ensure they have a squad capable of competing for promotion.

However, there is also likely to be interest in certain members of Grant McCann's own squad, who will be the subject of a fair amount of speculation with relegation now confirmed.

So with that in mind, we've taken a look at the transfer stories that could dominate at Peterborough United over the course of the next few weeks.

New goalkeeper search

With Christy Pym transfer listed, David Cornell released, and Steven Benda's loan spell from Swansea now having come to an end, Peterborough need to bring in some fresh options between the posts.

It has been reported that the Posh are looking to add two new goalkeepers to their squad this summer, with a loan deal for one shot-stopper thought to be close to completion.

As a result, with a deal not far away, and plenty of work to be done in that position, it seems there will be plenty of talk about the goalkeeper business around London Road over the course of the next few weeks.

Ronnie Edwards' Premier League links

He may still only be 19, but the rapid rise of Ronnie Edwards is something that has attracted a considerable amount of attention from elsewhere.

A number of Premier League clubs were linked with the centre back over the course of the season, and since the campaign ended, it has been reported that one top-flight side has already had a bid for the teenager rejected.

But with a long time to go in the market, and clubs unlikely to want to miss out on this opportunity, it would be a surprise if news of more bids for Edwards did not emerge before the window closes in early September.

Out of favour players to depart

If Peterborough are to recruit this summer, then they will no doubt have to move players on in order to bring in those new signings.

With only a few players being released, that could come in the form of players who have been transfer listed, with the aforementioned Christy Pym joined by Mark Beevers, Idris Kanu, Jorge Grant and Ryan Broom in being made available for sale.

Given the income from those sales may be important in raising funds to bring players in, you imagine those departures could be something the club will be looking to agree sooner rather than later.
