Luton Town will be hoping to mount another promotion push once the 2022/23 Championship campaign kicks off in July.

The Hatters managed to secure the final play-off spot before being edged out by Huddersfield Town late in the second leg in Yorkshire.

Set to attempt a seventh successive season of improving their position in the Football League pyramid, Nathan Jones will be looking to leave the summer transfer window in a stronger position than when it officially opens this month.

Here, we take a look at three transfer stories that could surface in the month of June...

Dion Pereira's future

Dion Pereira enjoyed an excellent loan stint with Bradford City during the second half of last season, proving to be a level above at times.

It remains to be seen what the immediate future holds for the 23-year-old and whether or not Jones views him as part of his immediate plans.

It would be no surprise if Bradford are keen to look into Pereira's situation once more if Jones opts against keeping him close to the first team next season, whilst higher level interest than the Bantams, is also likely to come about.

Elijah Adebayo

Elijah Adebayo proved to be one of the division's top forwards during the 2021/22 campaign and has adapted to regular Championship football seamlessly.

Still only 24, the powerful forward has an excellent future ahead of him and it would be no surprise to see further interest surface for the young forward.

With Naismith departing, Jones will be keen to keep hold of a player as integral as Adebayo for the challenge of further improving.

Elliot Anderson

It would be no shock if Luton still hold interest in Elliot Anderson, with the Hatters opting against making a move for the 19-year-old in January because there was no chance of securing a permanent deal.

Given his successful second half of the season with Bristol Rovers, where he scored seven times and assisted a further six goals in League Two, half of the Championship are interested in a move for the teenager.

Anderson has an exciting future ahead of him and could be a real star in the second tier next season - that could be with Luton Town.
