Huddersfield Town will be determined to get over the disappointment of suffering a defeat to Nottingham Forest in the play-offs by launching another push for promotion next season.

The Terriers missed out on a chance to seal a return to the Premier League last weekend as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Steve Cooper's side at Wembley Stadium.

With the transfer window set to open later this month, it will be interesting to see whether Huddersfield opt to engage in any early business.

Will Boyle to join on a free transfer?

According to a Patreon report from The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, Huddersfield are now closing in on sealing a deal for Will Boyle.

The defender's contract at Cheltenham Town is set to expire this month and thus the Terriers will be able to secure his services on a free transfer.

Although Boyle has only made two appearances in the second-tier during his career, he will be confident in his ability to adapt to life in this division as he recorded a relatively impressive average WhoScored match rating of 6.88 in League One last season.

Lewis O'Brien to Leeds United?

As per a recent report from The Sun, Leeds United are looking to revive their interest in Lewis O'Brien this summer.

It is understood that the Whites are keen to trigger a release clause believed to be in the region of £10m in O'Brien's contract in an attempt to seal a deal for the midfielder.

 

 

Huddersfield will not want to lose the 23-year-old this summer as he made 50 appearances in all competitions last season and is unquestionably one of the club's key players.

What will the future hold for Carel Eiting?

When Carel Eiting joined Huddersfield earlier this year, he would have been hoping to go on to feature regularly for the club.

However, the midfielder only made five appearances for the club in the second half of the campaign as he struggled to earn Carlos Corberan's trust.

Eiting shared a message on Instagram yesterday regarding his future as he thanked Huddersfield for the four months that he had at the club.

Having only signed a short-term deal at the club in January, it wouldn't be at all surprising if he moves on to pastures new this month.
