Derby County have had a tough few months but there is hope that next season can be better and that they can achieve some success.

Wayne Rooney looks set to try and conduct a rebuild at the club and fans will certainly be backing him to do that.

We're into June, which means the summer window is hurtling towards us and, that said, the rumours are going to increase in frequency.

Here, then, we're taking a look at three stories that could dominate the Derby headlines this month...

Tom Barkhuizen

Barkhuizen looks as though he is going to be heading to a new club this summer but it remains to be seen just who that'll be.

According to the Bolton News, both Derby County and Rotherham United are interested in him but as yet there has been no official move for him from any club.

Even so, this could be one to watch this month.

Phil Bardsley

Bardsley was at Manchester United with Wayne Rooney and he is an experienced defender that is now available on a free.

He's been linked with the club by the Derby Telegraph and is a player that has a huge amount to offer a young Derby side that needs a rebuild.

Again, this could be one that develops over the next few weeks.

Luke Molyneux

Molyneux has had a handful of good seasons with Hartlepool United and Pools have offered him a new contract but he is yet to decide what he wants to do.

In League Two he may feel as though he has done all he can and will want the challenge, with a host of League One clubs keen according to the Derby Telegraph.

The Rams are among the interestested parties according to the report, too, and so Molyneux may soon have a decision to make.
