Blackpool came out on top in yesterday’s FA Cup first round tie with Exeter City, winning by the odd goal in five to secure a place in the second round.
The draw couldn’t have been less kind, handing them a mammoth 560-mile round trip to visit St James Park, but those who did make the journey will be delighted after seeing an epic game of football between two sides wanting to get it over and done with on the day.
The Tangerines took a 3-0 lead into the latter stages, but Exeter fought back with two goals of their own to set up a tense final few minutes, but in the end the afternoon belonged to the League One side.
They’re chasing promotion to the Championship, currently residing just outside the top six but with enough quality and desire to suggest they’re in the hunt for the long haul.
The off field commotion means little to the players at the moment, but come January one or two might be wanting to convert their good performances into moves away.
Here’s three Blackpool players we feel are catching the eye at Bloomfield Road right now.
