Birmingham City are looking to survive once again this season from the drop to League One and recent games have shown they've got some fight in them.

The game against Derby aside, recent results have been pretty decent for the Blues and that has put them in contention to stay up in one of the tightest relegation battles around.

With that in mind, then, every opportunity to improve the squad needs to be taken and that is what Steve Cotterill will be looking to do in the final week of the transfer window.

The Blues, though, have also shown that they're willing to let players go with a few released by mutual consent and we've been thinking about potential players that should leave on loan.

With that in mind, then, here are two Blues players that should be looking for a temporary move away this month...

Corey O'Keeffe

O'Keeffe is a decent young defender but he's not getting much of a look-in at the moment with the Blues fighting the drop.

Naturally, Steve Cotterill wants to be playing the more experienced defenders at the moment and so O'Keeffe should ask for a loan move away.

If he can do well perhaps he'll be in a better position to challenge for first team football at St. Andrew's.

Luke Maxwell

For O'Keeffe, now read Maxwell.

Luke Maxwell is a midfielder and has been on a few loans already during his time with the Blues.

He could do with another, though, with him currently in the U23's and not looking as though he'll get much of a chance for the first team.

He's still young, though, so he's got time to force his way into the side.
