Ross McCormack isn't a name to inspire Aston Villa fans, the £12m misfit has become synonymous with the excess and failure of the past two seasons.

Whilst McCormack had good spells in his career, scoring regularly for Cardiff, Leeds and Fulham, Villa fans haven't seen any sign of goals. For their £12m they got three goals in 23 Championship appearances.

The player's trouble started when Roberto Di Matteo left the club and Steve Bruce took over. The two have not seen eye to eye and it would appear unlikely there's a route back now, despite the financial situation.

Villa will surely be looking to deal with the situation as soon as possible, with McCormack one of the players likely to leave as the financial belt tightens around the club's waist.

He won't be the only one either, here FLW identifies FIVE other players that could follow Ross McCormack out of the door at Villa Park.

If Grealish does go it won't be under the same circumstances as McCormack, not at all.

Grealish is a hero, a home grown talent whose most telling contribution might be earning them the money they need to survive.

He's the polar opposite of McCormack.

Kodjia came in during the same season as McCormack, but made a more significant impression. Last season's injury set him back somewhat, but he's saleable.

Again, if he goes it will be under less of a cloud than the Scot, but his sale is likely to be necessary.

The Icelandic star hasn't really settled at Villa, despite a run in the side last season.

He's another likely to follow 31-year old McCormack out of the door, but perhaps will be remembered more fondly at least.

Another striker, another likely departure. It seems Villa Park has been a graveyard for strikers with promise.

Hogan, like McCormack, scored goals elsewhere but hasn't replicated that with Villa. He's certainly another likely to leave this summer.

Lansbury has apparently been given a chance to resurrect his Villa career, but only due to their being few takers for the former Forest star.

As the summer dwindles away and clubs begin to panic, Lansbury could well find himself on the move with few tears shed as the door closes behind him.
