Aston Villa have had a far from ideal summer so far and fans will be concerned about how their season is going to go.

Financial problems are hanging overhead and though the fire-sale hasn't begun just yet, it would appear that that is a case of when and not if as things stand.

Certainly, then, Steve Bruce has the unenviable task of trying to keep his team competitive among certain changes and how he goes about doing that is going to be intriguing to say the least.

One idea we put to fans on Twitter, then, concerned Jack Marriott potentially coming in to replace Jonathan Kodjia if he had to move on this summer.

A player who hit the net 33 times last season, Marriott is certainly an interesting prospect and, by the looks of things, it's a scenario that wouldn't be looked on as so bad:

Of those that voted, it is a pretty close run thing and that might be expected to be the case if we asked a wider group of fans too.

Marriott, on one hand, looks a very exciting prospect but on the other, he is unproven at Championship level.

Bruce, though, might just have to take such gambles this summer.
