Possibly the most enjoyable campaign for a Sheffield United supporter, there's not much to be downhearted about, if at all, and now the Blades look forward to Championship football.

There will be some memorable victories from the last ten months, including a last-gasp penalty winner away at Gillingham from Billy Sharp to ensure all three points went back to Yorkshire.

That includes comfortable wins as well; scoring three, four or even more goals in one match is a sign of confidence and that is something Chris Wilder's side oozes which will help in the second-tier next year.

Reflecting on the season for United is something to be proud of, historic campaign for the League One champions and it'll be one which is cherished for possibly decades into the future, especially as the rivalry over Wednesday can be potentially renewed.

Baring that in mind, here are the THREE best goals of Sheffield United's 2016/17 season...

Billy Sharp v Shrewsbury - 18.10.2016

At a time when the Blades were lingering inside the play-offs, striker Billy Sharp came up with the goods to help Sheffield United onto a 3-0 victory away at Shrewsbury Town in mid-October.

The striker fired his effort from 25-yards into the top, right corner just seconds after the break to begin the rout at Greenhous Meadow.

Of course, we all know Sharp went on to bag over 30 goals for Chris Wilder's side this season and became an influential member of the first-team to lead them to promotion back to the Championship.

Leon Clarke v Port Vale - 14.4.2017

As the run-in was becoming ever so tense for Sheffield United, it would be important for the team to rack up another three points as soon as possible and that's exactly what they did at Vale Park in April.

Having already led due to a Jay O'Shea opener in the second minute, Leon Clarke volleyed inside the box from a Chris Basham cross to leave the Port Vale goalkeeper without a sniffer at saving it.

The Blades would go on to win 3-0 and eleven points clear of second-placed Bolton Wanderers, a measly three games before the campaign would come to a close.

Daniel Lafferty v Rochdale - 4.3.2017

The gap at the top was only five points after this disappointing draw in Manchester when the Blades visited Rochdale for their League One encounter, despite being two goals ahead within eleven minutes of play.

Following Mark Duffy's opener, Daniel Lafferty bagged one of the best goals of Sheffield United's season when he unlatched a 25-yard effort which rocketed into the top corner.

Unfortunately, the match would end 3-3 and Chris Wilder's squad went back to Bramall Lane feeling they should have wrapped up the victory.
