Brighton and Hove Albion are a completely different side to where they were a few years ago, as they look to push for promotion once again this season.

The Seagulls sit in 4th place in the Championship after picking up 21 points in their opening 11 games of the Championship season.

Chris Hughton’s side has netted 14 goals in the league so far, which indicates the attacking prowess in the side.

When you think of the days when they were relegated from the Championship in 2006, their highest goal scorer that year was Colin Kazim-Richards with just six goals.

Compare that to some excellent striker who have netted double figures for the Seagulls over the last decade such as Leonardo Ulloa, Craig Mackail-Smith and Tomer Hemed.

Although Brighton have had some excellent strikers, they have also had some not so good. Football League World writer Ashley Williams identifies Brighton’s 3 worst striker over the past decade...

Adrian Colunga

The Spanish striker was brought in from Spain in 2014 for an undisclosed fee to try and match the form of Leonardo Ulloa.

However, he only managed to scrape 3 goals in 17 appearances for the Seagulls and was shipped back out to Spain where he has hardly featured over the past three years due to his timid attacking presence.

The striker still currently plays for the Seagulls, but he has been shipped out on loan for the past three seasons.

Even when he has been out on loan with Sheffield United, Nottingham Forest and Burton Albion, he has only managed 3 goals in 30 appearances.

Since moving from Barnsley in 2014, he has only managed to scrape one goal for Brighton in 31 games.

His miserable form was part of the reason that Brighton found themselves in relegation trouble and he is certainly a major flop for the south coast side.

Leon Best

Arguably, Leon Best has been one of the worst strikers in the Football League over the past six years.

It seems like he has been shipped out to almost every side in the Championship and he doesn’t seem to make any impact at all.

During a loan spell with Brighton last year, he failed to find the net in 13 appearances and only managed half of a season on the south coast before returning to Blackburn Rovers.
