The summer is here and it's time for all associated with Rotherham United to move on from the clubs shambolic relegation of last season and look ahead to the upcoming League One campaign.

Paul Warne will be keen to see his side challenging at the right end of the table next year and will have very high hopes of being in and around the promotion race. With the likes of Lee Frecklington, Will Vaulks, Jon Taylor and Richard O'Donnell already on the books at the New York Stadium, many Millers fans believe they already have a very good, experienced League One core to the squad.

However, Warne who has taken charge of 29 full first team Rotherham United games already will no doubt be looking to sprinkle some quality additions on the squad throughout the off season.

This article is going to take a look at three potential new faces that could be arriving at The New York Stadium this summer...

Reece Wabara

One new face that is a real possibility is that of former Manchester City youngster Reece Wabara. After Darnell Fisher struggled to adapt to English football last year, Warne may be keen to bring in some competition at right back and 25-year-old Wabara would add some real stern competition for former Celtic man Fisher.

Wabara most recent club was Bolton Wanderers for whom he penned a short term deal in February 2017 until the end of the season. Having barley featured at all for the club he was released upon expiry of his contract and now finds himself searching for another new club.

Wabara has a proven pedigree in England's third tier after being named in the League One PFA Team of the Year for his performances in the 2015-16 season when playing for Wigan Athletic, whose season concluded in promotion to The Championship.

The 25-year-old is a solid, dependable athletic defender who would help sure up The Millers' leaky defence.

Ben Pringle

Ben Pringle made 147 appearances for the Millers scoring 19 goals in a 4 year spell ranging from 2011-2015, he was a major factor in the Millers gaining back to back promotions from League Two to the Championship and would no doubt be welcomed back to the club with open arms.

Warne, who has a very good relationship with the now Preston playmaker has hinted that he could be set for a return to The New York Stadium, news that was greeted very positively by The Millers faithful.

Pringle can play in a number of positions, wide left, central midfield and also behind the striker and his work ethic, passing ability and eye for a long shot come to the fore in whatever role he is deployed in.

Tom Adeyemi

After netting 7 times in 30 appearances through his loan spell with the club, Rotherham United supporters are now desperate to see Tom Adeyemi, the former Leeds United, Birmingham City and Brentford man return to the club on a permanent basis.

However, it is widely expected that the midfield man will be inundated with Championship offers, something that will make it extremely difficult for the club to tempt him back to South Yorkshire.

Adeyemi is a tall, athletic, powerful box to box midfielder and at just the age of 25 he certainly has his best years ahead of him. Adeyemi is currently contracted to Cardiff City but his release from the club is expected to be imminent.

Adeyemi is a seasoned Championship campaigner and would be an outstanding signing for The Millers should they persuade him to ply his trade in League One next season.
