It's been a busy summer for Sheffield United and their new manager Chris Wilder, who has overseen a squad overhaul which has seen more than 10 players depart, and seven new faces arrive through the door at Bramall Lane.

After last seasons disappointment under Nigel Adkins where the Blades finished a paltry 11th place, expectations will once again be reset for fans as they look for their team to finally win promotion.

However, with some players still on the transfer list and a couple of young players in the squad, there are a few who might well benefit from their immediate or long term futures lying away from Sheffield.

There is likely to be a few more outgoings by the time the summer window ends, and it would not be a surprise to see Wilder wield the axe before August is out.

Here, FLW writer Lee Connor looks at THREE Blades players who would benefit from joining a new club...

Louis Reed

There is no doubting the young midfielder is one with tremendous ability, however, he could well do with getting some experience of regular first team football under his belt.

Reed is slight in stature, and a loan spell in League Two or even further down League One could reap benefits for both him and the Blades.

It might be that Chris Wilder chooses to utilise Reed this season, but it seems unlikely with Chris Basham and John Fleck ahead of him, plus the emergence of Ben Whiteman.

Martyn Woolford

The former Scunthorpe winger - to put it frankly - was a terrible signing by former manager Nigel Adkins.

He has simply not fitted in with any system, and fans have not taken to him in the slightest way due to his overall performances and goals and assists ratio.

Woolford has been in talks about severing his deal for a while, and it will be in the best interests of all parties should he be able to agree a deal with the club.

Paul Coutts

The former Derby and Preston man is another who has not hit the heights people expected of him when he signed for the club two years ago.

Yet to score in a Blades shirt barring a pre-season friendly a few weeks ago, he has flattered to deceive in nearly all his performances in a red and white shirt.

Coutts has been transfer listed and looks set to move on if the Blades can find a buyer. There is little doubting Coutts has some ability and should be a capable player in League One, however it has just not happened for him, meaning his time should now be up.

Blades fans, what do you think to this? Would you agree? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
