Another disappointing season at Brammall Lane culminated in a poor 11th placed finish - this resulted in Nigel Adkins losing his job as manager of the club.

The man that has come in to replace him is lifelong fan Chris Wilder, who brings along with him Alan Knill - these two guided Northampton Town to the Sky Bet League Two title last campaign.

One of Wilder's first jobs as Blades' manager surely would've been to compile a list of players that will be leaving the club; either because of poor performances or just outspoken desire to move on.

If the Blades are to free themselves from mid table obscurity then they will have to acquire smartly, and sell with apprehension; there's no doubts about that.

In this article, Football League World writer Jack Sharp looks at THREE players that will surely be going out of the exit door at Bramall Lane before this window is over....

Paul Coutts

Paul Coutts joined the Blades in January 2015, and since then has made 58 appearances for the club, however rather pathetically he hasn't scored a single goal during that time.

He has made 8 assists which although isn't terrible, but still isn't spectacular by any stretch of the imagination.

The former Scotland U21 International made a total of 32 league appearances last campaign, making five assists.

Whilst Coutts may have talent and does possess quality, it is clear that he hasn't got much confidence in a Blades shirt; it would be very surprising if Coutts is at the club after this window.

Marc McNulty

McNulty joined the Blades in 2014, and has made 51 appearances for United, scoring 14 goals in the process.

The 23-year-old is contracted at the club for another year, however it is expected that he won't fulfil his contract at the club.

This is because McNulty has expressed that he would like to go back to Sky Bet League Two side Portsmouth, where he spent some of the 2015/16 campaign - making 27 league appearances for Pompey, finding the net an impressive ten times.

It is unlikely that Wilder will want to keep a player at the club that has expressed a desire to leave; therefore McNulty is expected to leave the club.

Kieron Freeman

Kieron Freeman is a 23-year-old who has been at the Blades since January 2015 - and has made 55 appearances for the club, scoring 3 goals and making 4 assists.

However, Freeman was made surplus at the club in the last campaign and was shipped out on loan to Portsmouth in January, where he would go on to make 7 appearances for the South coast club towards the end of the Sky Bet League Two campaign.

Although the former Wales U21 International has a year left on his contract at the club; it would seem possible that he will leave the club in this current window.
