Rotherham United have really struggled so far this season and currently find themselves sitting rock bottom of the Sky Bet Championship table.

7 points from the opening 16 games means that Rotherham are amid a crisis and they are currently already 6 adrift of second bottom and 8 clear of safety.

It is clear that the everyone at the club will need to make a huge effort if the club are to keep their heads above water and survive for another campaign in the Championship.

However, signs in recent weeks have been better for The Millers after Kenny Jacket took over at the New York Stadium and the fans have renewed optimism that staying clear of relegation is a possibility.

Every team needs to build on a good solid experienced core and experience is certainly something that Kenny Jackett is looking to bring into a relatively young Rotherham United team.

This article is going to take a look at THREE players who will be vital if The Millers are to stay up this season.

Lee Camp

Every team needs to build on the foundations of a consistent goalkeeper and last season, Lee Camp was exactly that.

However, his form has dipped somewhat this season and everyone associated with the club will be desperate to see an upturn in form by their number one goalkeeper soon so that the Millers can start climbing their way out of the Championship relegation zone.

32-year-old Camp is a highly experienced goalkeeper and will not be fazed by his current dip in form.

The former Bournemouth, Derby and Nottingham Forest shot-stopper is very confident in his own abilities and will be certain that his form will improve soon enough.

Camp is a huge fans' favourite at the New York Stadium despite only spending one year with the club.

He was a major part of the club staying in the Championship last season under Neil Warnock and proved himself to the Rotherham United faithful with some fantastic performances between the sticks.

Lee Frecklington

Club captain Lee Frecklington is absolutely vital to this Rotherham United team, which is something that is clear to everyone.

The team look much more solid when Frecklington plays as he brings a great energy and work rate to the Rotherham United engine room.

'Frecks' has been at the club since 2013 and has made close to 150 appearances for the club, chipping in with a very respectable tally of 21 goals along the way.

He is a massive fans' favourite and he always gives 110% every time he steps foot on the pitch.

Frecklington, now 31, has amassed a lot of football league experience throughout his career and his previous experience and know-how will be vital if The Millers are to survive another relegation battle.

Danny Ward

Danny Ward has had a fantastic season so far on an individual basis as he is currently in a red hot streak of goalscoring form.

The frontman has already scored 8 league goals this campaign - which ranks him as the fourth top scorer in the league - and is most certainly the Millers' most potent striker.

He has already doubled last season's goal return when he managed just 4 goals for the club in 34 games.

Everyone associated with the club will be desperate to see the former Huddersfield man keep up this rich vein of form and it appears that Ward could have a huge say in where The Millers will be playing their football next season.

Rotherham fans - do you agree with this? Just how important are these 3 players to your hopes of survival? Can Jackett keep you up?
