It's been a wonderful season for Reading who are gunning for promotion in quite some style.

Reading made a bold roll of the dice over the summer by sacking Brian McDermott six months into his reappointment at the club, replacing him with Manchester United legend Jaap Stam to his first job in management.

After a fairly average start to the season, Reading really began to pull away as they hit September with a number of excellent wins that saw them shoot right up the table.

They hit the dizzy heights of third for most of the season, but have moved down to fourth recently with a series of tough games coming up too, having just lost to Huddersfield with Brighton and Newcastle coming up.

Fans have every right to be thrilled with the fruits of their sides labours this season, and here are THREE tweets which sum up the mood at the club this year...

Well, technically this is a quote from Danny Williams, but it does extremely well to some up the discontent with the clubs attendances at home recently.

By no means are Reading the biggest club in the Championship, but the club have shown they're able to sell out the ground from their days in the Premier League and even this season against the likes of Villa.

With the club on a play off march in fourth place and showing no signs of stopping, some Royals fans have grown disgruntled with the lack of consistently strong attendances at the club.

This is a fairly consistent feeling for the Royals this season, who have seemingly struggled to beat the teams around them towards the top of the table, and struggled again on Tuesday night at Huddersfield.

Jaap Stam has only managed two wins from six games against their promotion rivals this year, which could throw their promotion-through-play-off hopes into doubt.

A good result against Brighton would go some way to improving that record, but it's an area where Reading will need to improve.

We end with the enormous feel good factor around Reading at the moment as the club believes their finally back on an upward trajectory, after about four years of underachievement.

The picture tweeted shows Liam Moore pretty happy following a win, and he's of many players who've done so much to bring optimism back to the Madejski Stadium.

A poll last year found Reading fans believed they'd be in League One before they were in the Premier League next, so to see them fourth now shows quite how unbelievable their rise has been.
