After a few seasons of bouncing up and down between the Premier League and the Championship, QPR suffered a miserably average year culminating in a mid-table finish in the second tier.

There was plenty of change throughout the season: Terry Connor departed the managerial role with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink arriving from Burton Albion whilst high profile players Charlie Austin and Leroy Fer left the club on permanent and loan deals respectively.

Hasselbaink inherited Connor's squad and will now use this summer to place his own stamp on QPR - bring in his own players and dispense with those he doesn't need. Samba Diakite, Alejandro Faurlin, Rob Green and Clint Hill are just a few names in a mass exodus at Loftus Road.

The summer overhaul is about to get underway and Hasselbaink will be tempted to dip into the Premier League to tempt some players to QPR.

Here are THREE players that QPR must look at snapping up from the Premiership...

Diego Poyet

Diego Poyet joined West Ham from Charlton after winning the Addicks' player of the year trophy in his breakthrough season.

Since then he has been shipped out on loan twice and currently sits behind high profile midfielders Mark Noble, Pedro Obiang, Havard Nordveit and Cheikhou Kouyate for the Hammers.

Now aged 21, the Uruguay youth international might look to move away from the Olympic Stadium permanently to gain first team football. The son of ex-Chelsea and Spurs midfielder Gus could see how he fares in West Ham's Europa League qualifiers before deciding on his future though.

Callum McManaman

If QPR are resigned to losing Matt Phillips to West Brom for £4m then why not place a cheeky bid for Callum McManaman at the same time?

The temperamental winger is fading out of Tony Pulis' plans and the arrival of Phillips pushes McManaman further to the periphery. With question marks over his attitude but no doubt about his skill, perhaps it's a risk worth taking.

A straight swap deal is a good deal for QPR who would add a quality winger to their attacking line. He provides the kind of excitement that QPR fans are longing for at the moment.

Dwight Gayle

QPR need a goalscorer to replace Charlie Austin. Sebastien Polter and Conor Washington are competent but not out-and-out goalscorers.

They need someone to get 20 goals in a season. Dwight Gayle might be quite expensive and they would have to fend off Newcastle and Aston Villa but he scores goals when he plays.

He is out of favour at Crystal Palace despite having the best goals to minutes ratio by a long way and his blistering pace will cause Championship defences all sorts of problems.
