Blackburn have just come out of a very challenging season, which resulted in a 15th placed finish in the Sky Bet Championship.

It was always going to be hard for Rovers after losing star talisman Jordan Rhodes in the January transfer window, and the club didn't replace Rhodes, which left them destined to sloop to a low mid table finish.

Towards the end of the season, Ewood Park started to turn against the Venkys (the owners of the club), which signalled how there is much needed change that needs to happen around Blackburn, change that needs to happen quick.

Owen Coyle has recently been appointed the manager of Rovers after a short spell managing in the MLS, and the 49- year old will need to make some very good signings if he is going to turn around the fortunes of the club.

A few years ago, Blackburn were an established Premier League side with the likes of Tudgay and Morten Gamst-Pedersen in their ranks, now they are a mid table Championship club.

However, Blackburn did profit a lot from the loss of Jordan Rhodes in terms of finance, and in this article Football League World's Jack Sharp looks at THREE Premier League players that must be signed by Blackburn if they are going to change their fortunes.

Dominic Solanke

Solanke

With the departure of Jordan Rhodes in January and Rudy Gestede last summer, Blackburn are in dire need of a new striker, and Dominic Solanke is a man who fits that criteria.

Solanke is 18-year-old, but don't let his age fool you. He has won Chelsea's Academy player of the year award, represented England at all youth levels and played in a Champions League game, meaning Solanke definitely already has a wealth of experience in his locker.

He has just spent the year out on loan at Vitessse Arnhem, where he made 27 appearances, netting three times.

With a career portfolio this impressive at the age of 18, although Solanke is inexperienced he could provide the raw talent and strike power needed by Blackburn to elevate themselves up the division, and the fact that Solanke only has a year left on his contract at Stamford Bridge, means that Blackburn could get themselves a bargain.

Tyler Blackett

Blackburn last season had a neutral goal difference, scoring 46 goals and obviously conceding the same amount; whilst this is a good record, Blackburn could still need a real defensive anchor to boost the clubs fortunes.

Blackett is a Manchester United player, however was restricted in appearances at the club under Louis Van Gaal and he hasn't yet been named in the plans of Jose Mourinho.

There is obviously going to be high competition at a club like Manchester United, and this showed as Blackett was sent out on loan at the start of the 2015/16 season.

Now Blackett has obviously returned from his loan, and the 22-year old who has represented England at five youth levels will have to decide his future, with only a year left on his contract.

Blackett could definitely be a shrewd signing for the Rovers.

Sulley Kaikai

Sullay Kaikai

Kaikai is an incredibly talented youngster who plays his trade at Crystal Palace, however spent most of last season where he really displayed his talent at Shrewsbury Town.

The 20-year-old made 31 appearances in two different spells with at Greenhous Meadow last season, scoring twelve goals and making five assists.

Kaikai also won the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award whilst at Shrewsbury.

Kaikai made his Premier League debut in the last game of the 2015/16 season, and actually played in the corner that Jason Puncheon scored from.

Kaikai is perhaps ready to move up a division from where he has excelled in League One, but may not be ready to play consistently in the Premier League - this move could be a possibility.
