One of the most frustrating things about being a Coventry fan in recent years is the owners' insistence in selling on young talent and not reinvesting it in the squad.

Just since their relegation to League One, the club has overseen the departures of academy products Cyrus Christie, Callum Wilson, James Maddison and Bassala Sambou.

The 'bigger' clubs are looking to poach young talent from lower league clubs like Coventry now as they offer these players the prospect of more money and a higher level of football.

Unfortunately, under SISU you can't see this changing any time soon.

The Sky Blues have an excellent youth policy and form their squad as a healthy mix of academy products and purchased players. Young stars like Cian Harries, Ivor Lawton, George Thomas and Ryan Haynes are all tipped to have exciting futures ahead of them.

But here are THREE players that Coventry are more likely to sell than keep before the end of the window...

Reice Charles-Cook

The athletic shot-stopper was a diamond in the rough towards the latter part of last season.

He shone in a struggling Coventry side who plummeted from top of the league to a mid-table finish.

There are still question marks looming over his handling skills but Charles-Cook is confident and willing to learn and improve at all times.

The 22-year-old pulled off one of the best saves ever seen by a Coventry goalkeeper when he changed direction to tip a deflected Port Vale strike over the bar.

Charles-Cook got his chance when fellow 'keeper Lee Burge was injured and took his opportunity with both hands.

The fan favourite might be subject, however, to bids from Championship clubs and if the right price comes in, then the club will sell.

It would be very disappointing to see the former Arsenal youth goalkeeper leave the club but you can't stand in his way if a tempting offer pops up from a team in a higher league.

Chris Stokes

Chris Stokes would be another player who Sky Blues' fans would desperately want to keep at the club.

After making his move from Forest Green permanent last summer, Stokes played every minute of the first 36 league games before getting injured at the end of the Blackpool match.

The defensive mainstay missed the final 10 matches of the season but was a key figure at left back when fit.

The 25-year-old has been subject to interest from the Championship, according to reports.

With Mowbray supposedly in the market for a left back as well as having Ryan Haynes available for that position, it might be a case of reading between the lines and supposing that Stokes could be off.

You wouldn't begrudge the former England under-17 international his move at this stage of his career and Coventry are well equipped to deal with losing their first choice left back.

Jordan Willis

Jordan Willis seems to have been around at Coventry for years.

He made his professional debut back in 2011 and has since made 70 league games for the Sky Blues.

During his time at the club he has drifted in and out of the starting XI but missed the entirety of the 2015/16 campaign with a devastating injury for someone so young.

The 21-year-old could be sold to further his development and secure him some guaranteed first team football - which he needs at this stage of his career.

The defender can play at centre back or right back and would be a prize capture for a League Two club with a bit of cash to spend, such as Colchester or Portsmouth.

The former England under-19 international could be sold at the right price as it would be a mutually beneficial move.
