Norwich City crawled back from 1-0 down to seal a 2-1 victory away at Nottingham Forest, jumping into second place in the Sky Bet Championship.

It could have been the perfect start for Norwich after being awarded a penalty in the first half, but Forest goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic saved Wes Hoolahan's effort from the spot.

That penalty save spurred the home side on, and in-form striker Apostolos Vellios struck home just before half time from close range.

After the break, the Canaries came out on top and equalised through Jonny Howson's tight angled finish.

Alex Neil’s side stole the points with 35 minutes to play thanks to a superb 20 yard strike from midfielder Graham Dorrans.

Norwich’s flying start sees them leapfrog Newcastle United into the automatic promotion spot, and the fans will certainly be happy with three consecutive wins in a week.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Ashley Williams identifies Norwich’s THREE key players from the victory over Forest...

Graham Dorrans

The former West Bromwich Albion midfielder was described by the Canaries fans on Twitter as one of the most underrated players in the Norwich squad after Saturday's game.

He was the architect to Norwich’s second half transformation, bagging an excellent goal and was part of every build-up going forward.

Canaries boss Alex Neil described Dorrans as a ‘special player’ in his post-match interview, and he could play a big part in whether Norwich secure promotion at the first time of asking.

Jonny Howson

Alongside his central midfield partner, the pair looked combative and solid in the middle of the park. It's a combination that may go some way to determining how well Norwich get on as the season progresses.

His goal early in the second half was just what the side needed, and Forest could not handle the pressure once they scored their equaliser.

Howson is a consistent player who seems to be one of the first names on the team sheet for Neil.

Jacob Murphy

Jacob Murphy has already bagged four league goals for the Canaries, and continued his excellent form in the Forest game.

He looked extremely dangerous throughout, and helped Norwich come from behind to secure the win.

He's quickly becoming a fan favourite and you'd expect him and Norwich City to have high hopes for the remainder of the season.
