Leeds had a shaky start to the season to say the least, and manager Garry Monk must have been wondering what on earth he'd walked into when speculation arose he might be on the brink of the sack.

However, Monk has been able to somewhat turn this poor start around, and a victory over Blackburn Rovers on the 13th of September sparked a brilliant run of form, which saw the Whites register victories over Cardiff City, Ipswich and Barnsley, and also pick up a point against Derby.

All things considered, Leeds now sit in 14th place, just 4 points off the top 6 where Cellino wants Leeds to be, come the end of the season.

This peak in form is largely down to some scintillating form from some of the Leeds United players.

Here are THREE Leeds United players currently playing out of their skin.... Do you agree?

Kyle Bartley

Monk was clearly impressed with what he saw from the centre half during his time at Swansea, because the talented defender was one of the first additions he made to his side in the summer.

Bartley has been arguably the standout player in this Leeds side, and has filled the void left by Sol Bamba, who is now plying his trade at Cardiff under Neil Warnock. 2 goals from 15 appearances shows that he's not just an asset in a defensive sense too, and if he can keep up this form for the rest of this season, Leeds could be in for a great season.

Pablo Hernandez

Pablo Hernandez

Snapped up on a loan deal in the summer as one of several players Monk had at his disposal during his spell as Swansea, Hernandez was expected to provide the magic spark needed for Leeds to make the jump from mid-table dwellers to Play-Off contenders.

His first few games were quiet to say the least but he's pushed on since then, and his interplay and off the ball movement have been highly impressive.

Two goals from 15 games so far is a modest tally, but it's clear to see that the Spaniard contributes more than just goals.

Chris Wood

On the subject of goals, Chris Wood is a man who has been scoring for fun this season.

The New Zealand international has had a knack of scoring goals wherever he's been, even in distinctly average sides, such as Leeds' last season.

This season he's already bagged 7 goals in 13 starts, and it looks as though he's only just clicking into gear.

In the 'Target Man' role up top his knock-downs have brought Hadi Sacko and Pablo Hernandez into attacks more often than with Antonsson, and his goals and assists could prove increasingly crucial as the season goes on.
