After such a great start, things haven't gone to plan in September for Fulham.

They were unbeaten throughout August, and were going into that international break thinking that this campaign might finally be the one where the return to the Premier League.

However, they haven't won a game since, with lows including the 4-0 defeat to Bristol City at home and the 2-1 defeat to rivals QPR.

This poor month has got some fans calling for their manager's head, with Slavisa Jokanovic needing to find results in October or the cries of the fans are going to be hard for Shahid Khan to ignore.

They face Barnsley, Norwich, Aston Villa & Huddersfield in a tough month, but one where they need to stay away from the drop zone.

Here, FLW's Ryan Evans looks at THREE Fulham players that are out of their depth......

Tim Ream

The 29-year old USA international has only played in four games this season, but hasn't looked as solid as his colleagues.

In the games against Newcastle and Preston, he came on late in the day at left-back, but has started the Cottagers' two most recent games at centre-half, the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest and the 2-1 defeat to QPR.

After the great start that Tomas Kalas and Michael Madl had in the heart of the Fulham defence and the amazing European Championship campaign that Ragnar Sigurdsson had with Iceland, Jokanovic's decision to play Ream over any one of those three quality centre-backs is strange.

Kalas is currently suffering from an injury, but Madl was an unused substitute in the defeat to QPR, and perhaps should be reinstated in the team after the international break.

Cauley Woodrow

The 21-year-old has been 'the next big thing' at Fulham for a very long time now, without ever really showing the Craven Cottage faithful that he can live up to his billing.

His brace against League Two side Leyton Orient in the EFL Cup has been as good as it's got for him this season, despite a fair amount of playing time - starts in all three of their cup games and five appearances in the league.

It looks like Jokanovic may have finally realised he's not at this level just yet, as he hasn't played since the 0-0 draw with Wigan in mid-September.

He was given the benefit of the doubt in the last campaign - four in 14 was not bad considering the form of Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack and his terrible injury, but in a season where they need a clinical finisher, many were hoping that Woodrow would step up to the plate.

Unfortunately, that just hasn't happened.

Jozabed Sanchez

Part of what has made Fulham fans so angry is the poor transfer recruitment. Whilst there are a few that have done well thus far, including Madl, Sone Aluko and Denis Odoi, there are still plenty who are yet to show the Fulham fans why their club bought them.

Sanchez is one of them who, after seven appearances, is yet to play a hand in any goal. He was brought in amongst much promise just after the start of the Championship season, but he's not lived up to any of it yet.

The Fulham faithful will really be hoping that the 25-year-old can kick on when the season gets underway again after the international break.
