Sky Bet Championship side Fulham are definitely short of options in the central midfield department.

This by no means suggests that there is a shortage of talent though, with the pairing of Lasse Vigen Christensen and Emerson Hyndman giving Fulham fans a little relief after losing hot prospect Moussa Dembele, with Ross McCormack soon to follow.

As well as that pairing you have Tom Cairney, who has become a fan favourite, putting in the 'hard yards' behind the two strikers last season, and George Williams, whose performances led to a call up to Wales' Euro 2016 squad.

Ryan Tunnicliffe provides another alternative in the centre of the park, and Scott Parker adds some much needed Premier League experience to what is a very young squad.

However, there are very few options elsewhere, and a defensive midfielder will be high on the list of priorities for manager Slavisa Jokanovic.

Here, FootballLeagueWorld writer Harry Smith identifies THREE central midfielders who would undoubtedly improve Fulham...

The talented young midfielder has been turning heads with Wigan Athletic, where he put in a string of impressive performances which helped the Latics win promotion from Sky Bet League One back to the Championship.

Unsurprisingly, he has attracted a lot of attention from several Championship clubs, but with considerable financial resources available, Fulham would be one of the favourites to land the youngster should they go in for him.

Ondrej Duda

Slovakia were impressive in their Euro 2016 campaign, and Legia Warsaw youngster Ondrej Duda was one of the shining lights of their campaign.

He scored a well-taken goal in their opening game against Wales after coming on off the bench and, after several successful seasons in Poland with Legia, he is looking for a chance in English football.

Fulham could be the perfect place for him to start, with the Cottagers in need of an attacking midfielder.

Massimo Luongo

QPR's Australian midfielder made the provisional 2015 Ballon d'or shortlist, which gives you an idea as to how impressive his performances were before joining the West London side.

However, the Aussie has struggled to adapt to the Championship, and a fresh start at Fulham could do him the world of good.

Signing a player from their London rivals will not go down well in some parts, but Luongo could be a game-changing signing for the Cottagers.
