Cardiff will need a shake up in their squad over the summer, if they are to hold any hope of winning promotion to the Premier League next season.

The current squad looks far from ready for a promotion push, and despite finishing just outside the top 6 last season, they were miles away from being real contenders.

Paul Trollope will be looking to shift on a hefty chunk of the current side, with several squad players seemingly on their way out.

Vincent Tan will most likely give Trollope the financial backing he needs to sort out some replacements, with Lex Immers being linked with a return to the club after an impressive loan spell towards the back end of last season, but some key players may have to be sold too in order to raise some extra funds.

With a huge summer ahead for the Welsh side, here are THREE Cardiff City players who will surely be sold this summer.....

Adam Le Fondre

Signed from Reading for a bargain fee of £1 million, Le Fondre failed to really settle in Wales and fell out with manager Russell Slade pretty quickly.

After being sent out on loan to first Bolton and then Wolves it seems like his time at Cardiff could be coming to an end, and possibly a return to Reading could even be on the cards.

Federico Macheda

The former Manchester United wonderkid arrived at the Millennium Stadium with much hype around his head, and Cardiff fans were hoping he could replicate the form from his early United days.

However, Macheda failed to really live up to his potential, and his scoring record in Wales has been far from impressive.

Top that off with a host of injuries and you can see why Paul Trollope would want to move him on this summer.

Scott Malone

Cardiff fans were hoping that Scott Malone would develop into a key player at left back after joining from Millwall in 2015, but after a pretty average season playing back up to Fabio at left back, he has fallen out of favour with both the fans and manager Paul Trollope.

Fulham are reportedly looking at a deal to bring the former Bournemouth and Wolves full back to Craven Cottage, and it doesn't look like anyone will stand in his way if he chooses to leave.
