The Robins are in for a very promising campaign with Lee Johnson at the helm.

Keeping talisman Jonathan Kodjia at Ashton Gate was a must, and with that achieved with the season only a few days away, followed with the signings of Lee Tomlin, Callum O'Dowda, Josh Brownhill, Hordur Magnusson, Gary O'Neil, Adam Matthews, and Ivan Lučić, Bristol City could well be on their way to promotion.

Lee Johnson will be hoping his new-look squad can compete in the higher echelons of the Sky Bet Championship next season, and ultimately steer clear of the perilous relegation zone.

There are players though, that will not get a chance at Ashton Gate next season and that should definitely move on.

Here, FLW writer George Harbey identifies THREE players that should move away from Ashton Gate, to benefit themselves...

Kieran Agard

It was no doubt a fantastic acquisition made by Steve Cotterill back in 2014, when Agard put pen to paper to replace captain Sam Baldock.

After scoring 21 times in Rotherham's 13/14 promotion winning season campaign, he then followed up his fantastic goalscoring record with 13 goals with City, where they won the Sky Bet League One 2014/15 title.

However in what was a disappointing season for the 26-year-old last term, netting just three times in 27 games, he seems to be surplus to requirements at Ashton Gate.

Marlon Pack

Despite making 123 appearances for the Robins, it will be very hard to see the 25-year-old integrate himself back into the first team behind the likes of Gary O'Neil, Josh Brownhill and Korey Smith.

Instrumental in the League One title winning campaign, Pack is an incredible asset in the middle of the park, and will easily fit into any League One side and many Championship teams.

However with the recruits made by Lee Johnson this summer, perhaps Pack should depart now before he finds himself falling down the pecking order this term.

Luke Freeman

Luke Freemanm

When it comes to talent, Freeman has it in abundance.

After signing from Stevenage in 2014, the 24-year-old winger who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, was a catalyst of all City's successes in the 14/15 campaign.

However, Bristol City fans are divided when it comes to deciding whether Freeman should start against Wigan Athletic on the opening day of the new season.

Under increased pressure to retain his starting place following the arrivals of Lee Tomlin, Callum O'Dowda and Josh Brownhill, Freeman was often deployed as a substitute when Johnson arrived in February, and played second fiddle to Joe Bryan and Bobby Reid, as his erstwhile influence warned.

A player like Freeman should not be starting as a sub, and should look to move away from Ashton Gate to display the talent he has showed on numerous occasions.
